New Music Spotlight: Rachel Farley – “Ain’t Easy”

Just who IS Rachel Farley, anyway?  Well, after what I saw on a tourbus in the parking lot here at the 99.5 WYCD studios a couple weeks ago, I saw a future star.  In fact, our program director, Tim Roberts, even said to me after we enjoyed her performance, “I expect to see her on stage accepting a (country music) award in the next few years.”  High praise.

Rachel hails from Georgia, where as a young girl, was discovered by Brantley Gilbert, who kind of took the young rocker under his wing, and let her open for him on some of his early tour dates.  Judging from our performance of Rachel’s, I can assure you she’s wise beyond her seventeen years, tough as nails, yet sensitive and very funny, possessing a rapid-fire wit.  Boys beware, this young girl’s a man killer, and probably your daughter’s next teen idol.

Her debut single “Ain’t Easy” is the perfect song to introduce this artist, who spent last year on tour with labelmate Jason Aldean.   Check out her raw, rockin’ energy in the video below, then vote on this song in today’s New Music Spotlight poll.
