Christmas gift exchanges at work can be a political minefield, and few are trickier to navigate than the question of whether or not to give the boss a gift.  Some employers may expect gifts from their employees. Others may disdain them. Most employees who are comfortable with the idea of giving the boss a gift feel it should be more of a token gift rather than a big, under-the-tree type of present. Do you feel like you should or should not gift the boss….and why?

If you give anyone at work a Christmas present, the most important thing to remember is to keep it ‘appropriate’….meaning Lover’s Lane is probably not the place you want to shop at for coworkers presents!

I usually give our bosses a small gift to how my appreciation, as I really do like them both. Truth be told, if I did not like them, I doubt I would even bother! I try to get something they can use in the office, like a decorative item, or something useful like a box of ‘all-occasion’ greeting cards.   I don’t feel at all like I ‘have to,’ I just want to or else I would not do it.
