Attention all ‘coffee snobs‘ as this one is definitely for you! Starbucks is introducing its most expensive ever coffee. The Costa Rica Finca Palmilera coffee is only available in 48 stores in America and can cost up to $7 a cup. The premium coffee is made from a rare coffee varietal, known as Geisha, that is found in Central America and is notoriously difficult to grow. But will anyone really pay $7 for just one cup of coffee?
The answer to that question is a resounding YES, in fact one online store reportedly sold out of the variety in less than 24 hours!
Starbucks is selling eight ounce bags of the coffee for $40, a ‘tall’ cup of the coffee, without any added milk, costs $6, while a ‘grande’ cup costs $7. Half of the stores in which the coffee is being sold are based in US city Seattle. Is that city the ‘coffee snob’ capital of America?
I consider myself a total coffee lover! Instead of already ground coffee, I now buy whole coffee beans and grind enough each morning for a fresh pot.But there’s no way I would ever pay $7 bucks for one cup of coffee, that just seems crazy to me! I only pay $11 for a whole bag of beans!
Would you buy a $7 cup of coffee?
