The one week countdown to our annual WYCD Cares For St. Jude Kids has begun, so please mark your calendar and join us at the Southland Center, next Thursday December 6th & Friday December 7th! We do this every year to help these kids who are battling cancer and other life-threatening diseases and we will not stop until “No child dies in the dawn of life!” Danny Thomas founded St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 50 years ago, and thanks to your help, the cure rate for children fighting cancer has increased dramatically! Meet 10-year-old Brennen Simkins who is currently being treated at St. Jude and like all the other kids fighting for their lives, Brennen tells us that “he does not want to die.” Watch the video and hear this brave little boy tell his story here…
Brennen has undergone 4 bone marrow transplants in just the past 18 months, and after local doctors told his parents that there was little hope for Brennen, they turned to St. Jude who will NOT GIVE UP on Brennen or any of the kids who are treated there each and every year thanks to public donations form people like us!
Here is Brennen Simkins telling his own story, and how he does “not want to die.”
Marlo Thomas explains the mission of St. Jude afterwards, and what great strides they are still making in finding cures for all childhood cancer.
