Black Friday, a.k.a. the day after Thanksgiving, can either be a shopping nightmare or a shopping fantasy, depending on who you ask. Some people love the thrill of getting up at 3 a.m. to camp outside of the mall until those glass doors unlock, while others dread the pushing, screaming, sweaty people they’ll need to shove past to grab the best gizmos and gadgets for their loved ones. No matter what your type is, here are some tips for avoiding the madness and making the Black Friday shopping experience as stress-free as possible.
Before you get started, here is a link with all of your Black Friday Deals!
1. Utilize Online Shopping
You don’t need to physically go anywhere to get the Black Friday deals. Online shopping is becoming more and more popular, and it is quite convenient. Most popular retailers will offer their same in-store deals on their websites, but be sure to check ahead of time to make sure.
2. Make A List
A list will make you remember what you need and will help you to prioritize the purchases you need to make. It will also help you get in and out of the stores as quickly as possible.
3. Look For The Ads
They’ll be sent out by all the major stores in the days leading up to Black Friday, so be sure to cut them out and use those coupons. Use them in regards to your premade list so that you can get the best bang for your buck on the products that you actually need.
4. Don’t Lose Your Receipts
Stores are sometimes more strict with return policies on Black Friday (so you might have less time to make returns on your items if need be), so make sure you keep track of your receipts and try out your purchases soon after buying them.
5. Bring A Pal
Children might not work as pals here. Bring a buddy that works at the same pace as you (and can wait in a 50-something person line for you when you need to use the bathroom). You’ll need a friendly face to hang out with after the ruthless strangers that will, most likely, trample you to get to the new Fisher-Price toys.
