New Music Spotlight: Hayden Panettiere “Telescope”

The New Music Spotlight is focused on the TV series Nashville today.  If you’ve not seen Nashville, yet, make it appointment television.  The story lines ring true as they focus on one singer, Rayna James, an aging female star (played by Connie Britton), and her younger rival, the up and coming young star Juliette Barnes (played by Hayden Panettiere.)

Hayden’s no stranger to singing.  The 23 year old actress, best known for her acting roles in Heroes and Guiding Light — as well as her more recent roles in the television movie Amanda Knox: Murder on Trial in Italy, recently told US Weekly, “I recorded an album when I was younger, and I always said that if I was going to go back to music, I would do country, I’m keeping my fingers crossed.”

Her Juliette Barnes character on Nashville can only be described as a spoiled, redneck diva who is trying hard to hide to the public her true persona.  In a recent episode, Juliette’s good girl image is on the line as she is caught shoplifting nail polish from a Kroger on video by fans capturing the crime on their smartphone cameras.  Will she need Rayna James’ help to restore her name and career?  You’ll have to tune in Wednesday night at 10PM ET on ABC, and you can catch up on previous episodes here.

Meanwhile, check out Hayden Panettiere as Juliette Barnes, singing “Telescope”, and tell us what you think in the poll below.
