While I was never really into dressing up into costumes for Halloween, my sweet tooth always got the better of me. There isn’t many candies that I dislike, and because of that I have to really pay attention because it will not only give me a stomach ache, but I will quickly back on the pounds after eating thousands of calories worth of candy! So, Before you rifle through your kid’s Halloween candy, here’s something to think about: If you have just one fun sized pack of Skittles, you’d have to run for about five minutes to burn off the calories. And you KNOW you’ll eat more than that.
FitPerez.com took the time to not only create a list of Halloween candies and their calorie count, but what we need to do to burn off those calories. While I see how much work I need to do, at least I won’t have to do any EXTRA work to get those calories off!
#1.) Peanut M&Ms. One fun size package of them has about 90 calories, which equals about 8 minutes of running, 6 minutes of swimming, 16 minutes on a bike, or 11 minutes lifting weights.
#2.) Tootsie Rolls. Five of them equal about 9 minutes of running, 8 minutes of swimming, or 20 minutes on a bike.
#3.) Three Musketeers. If you have two fun sized bars, that’s 10 minutes of running, or about 22 minutes on a bike.
–It’s about the same if you have about 20 pieces of Candy Corn . . . which would be A LOT of them considering how AWFUL they are.
#4.) Starburst. Eight of them have 160 calories, or around 12 minutes of running, or 28 minutes on a bike
–Or if you have just TWO fun sized Snickers, Twix, Almond Joys, or Mounds bars, it’s about the same.
