Stay Classy Giants’ Fans

The media always seems to joke about Detroit fans burning down the city during major sporting events, but it was Giants fans who turned violent after their win last night at Comerica Park. Although I can’t say what would’ve happened if the Tigers would have won the World Series, it makes me feel better to rip on Giants fans today. I’ll admit the team outplayed us and deserve a congratulations, but the fans disgraced themselves last night.

Thousands of rowdy fans went to the streets of San Francisco after the Giants win last night and their celebrations turned violent as buses were set on fire, cars tipped over, windows were broken, and bonfires were lit throughout the city. Many arrests were made as fireworks were being set off, fans were spraying champagne and other alcohol everywhere and marijuana was being passed throughout the crowds despite a heavy police presence.

Despite our shortcomings we can hang our heads high and be proud of a great season for both the players and the fans of our Detroit Tigers.

Stay classy San Fran!

Here’s a video of the out of control fans.
