One thing is for sure, Taylor Swift gets a lot of attention when she writes songs about ‘love gone wrong!‘ Everyone speculates on ‘who’ she is writing and singing about on songs like “Dear John’, “Mean” and her latest, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.” Although she has never revealed publicly who any of these songs are about, former flame John Mayer made headlines earlier this year in a magazine interview that he was’ humiliated’ by one of her songs. Now Taylor is addressing his allegation and it seems that this girl is a force to be reckoned with….
The 22-year-old Taylor Swift reacts to John Mayer’s allegation that “Dear John,” from her Speak Now album, is about him. In a recent magazine interview, Taylor had this to say:
“How presumptuous! I never disclose who my songs are about!”
Taylor also tells the magazine:
“I think that song (“Dear John”) really hit home with a lot of girls who had been through toxic relationships and had found their way to the other side of it. I’ve never looked out while singing a song during a concert to see so many girls crying.”
I can relate to ‘toxic relationships’ myself! Back when I was a young girl and first started dating at around age 18, I had an ‘older guy’ who took advantage of my youthful innocence, by lying to me and pretending to be someone he was not. It was a painful eye opener, but I think it made me much stronger and more capable of recognizing the ‘creeps’ out there and avoiding them like the plague! I no longer was the ‘trusting without question’ kind of girl, but that was probably a good thing after all in the grand scheme of life!
How did YOU recognize and end a ‘toxic relationship?’
Here’s a good line (and song!) to end that’ toxic merry-go-round’ with a creepy “Mr. Wrong!”
