How Secure Is Your Marriage?

More and more marriages are ending now a days, but why?  There are so many so-called “specialists” that can tell us why they think they end.  Most of the time, they say the men aren’t doing what they are supposed to, and they aren’t doing enough.  Well, according to a new study, they have proven something that most men will try to stick by!  You won’t believe what it says!

According to the New York Daily News, a study has been done for marriages and rate of divorce.  Now, many divorces can’t be pre-determined.  I mean, no one knows that their marriage will fail.  Well, this new study talks about the rate of divorce when partners share the house hold chores.  Many would think that sharing the housework 50/50 would create less friction.  Well, the study says otherwise!  The rate of divorce of marriages where the partners split the work equally is actually 50% HIGHER than marriages where the woman does more housework!  The scientists that did the study say:

“One would think that break-ups would occur more often in families with less equality at home, but our statistics show the opposite.”

They say that while the men may be doing the work, they may be feeling a bit of pressure on himself because he feels their roles aren’t being defined, and he thinks they should be!

“Maybe it’s sometimes seen as a good thing to have very clear roles with lots of clarity … where one person is not stepping on the other’s toes,” Hansen suggested… “There could be less quarrels, since you can easily get into squabbles if both have the same roles and one has the feeling that the other is not pulling his or her own weight,” he added…

I personally don’t agree with this what so ever.  While I don’t ENJOY doing housework, I do as much as I can because I know that it makes my wife happy.  And when my wife is happy, I tend to get more in return!  What about you?

Do you think men SHOULD do more work, or would you let him sit around and do nothing to “save the marriage?”
