No tool kit? No problem! Behold (and be amazed) how simple items in your makeup bag can fix your woes! Did you know that hairspray removes stains? I learned this years ago in cosmetology school! Hairspray can remove everything from hair color stains to last night’s spilled Merlot. Just spray the stain with hairspray and blot until it’s gone. This came in real handy the other day when my 90 year old Dad used a permanent black Sharpie marker to draw some lines on a piece of paper, and accidentally got it all over my nice wood kitchen table. I grabbed a can of hairspray and all the stains came right off! Here are some other super great tips on new uses for everyday products that most of us have around the house….
Get rid of rust with nail polish. Coat the undersides of your shaving cream cans — or any metal soap dishes or shower products — with a layer of clear nail polish to keep rust from forming and staining your bathtub.
Polish silver with toothpaste. You don’t need to buy silver polish; Squirt a dab of regular white toothpaste to polish any silver you have. Just don’t try it with a gel or whitening formula — they won’t do the trick.
Dust your keyboard with your eyeshadow brush. Those little nooks and crannies in your keyboard can get filled with gunk but a quick swipe with a makeup brush can help you get it out.
