First off, it’s not officially called the Drag Queen Barbie.  I don’t think they would ever let that happen. But what it does look like happened is how Barbie looks a little over the top with way too much make up, and some crazy looking outfit that some people are saying makes her look like a drag queen.  While it might not seem like too big of a deal, some Barbie fans saying it steps over boundaries that didn’t need to be stepped over!

According to Time.com, Mattel has teamed up with designer team, The Blonds, to create The Blonds Blond Diamond Barbie Doll.  While the Barbie is dressed to the nines with lots of makeup and an outrageous fake fur coat, some are saying that this Barbie actually looks a lot like one of the designers, David Blond.  David is actually a cross-dresser that wears crazy outfits as well.

While it might sound crazy, there are a ton of people actually upset how “over the top” Barbie looks. But other Barbie fans don’t really care what anyone else thinks.

“One of the great things about Barbie is that she continues to push the envelope,” Cathy Cline, vice president of marketing in the United States for Mattel’s girls’ brands told the New York Times. “Barbie doesn’t worry about what other people think.”
