John Rich talks with The Dr. Don Show with Rachael and Grunwald and shares his thoughts on the recent arrest of country star Randy Travis. Rich says, “I’ve known him from way back in the Lonestar days. Matter of fact, the first concert I ever bought a ticket to, I was 14 years old in Amarillo Texas and it was Reba McEntire opening for Randy Travis, so I hate it honestly. I hope whatever’s going on in his head, they can figure it out and get him back on track honestly. He’s one of our greatest country voices to ever sing.”

Recently, rumors were saying that Brad Paisley was going to be a judge on American Idol. Those rumors have since been proven to be just that, rumors. John Rich says, “They’ve never had a real country person on that panel, they should get one.” John says that with his new show on TV called The Next, he doesn’t have the time to be on American Idol. The Next stars John Rich along with Joe Jonas, Gloria Estefan and Nelly going around the country looking for the next big star.

Big and Rich are getting ready for their next album called Hillbilly Jedi and the first single is called “That’s Why I Pray.” With the new song, new album, TV shows and touring, it’s amazing how John Rich finds the time to do it all. John says, “It’s been a very challenging summer because of touring and thank goodness Big Kenny and I have you guys playing our new song, “That’s Why I Pray.” Between that and shooting the new TV show I’m talking about plus my two sons who are under the age of 3, it’s been a challenging summer.”
