It’s no secret that dolphins love people, and for many people like me, swimming with a dolphin is an amazing experience that you will never forget! My whole family loves dolphins, and every year we visit and support the Dolphin Research Center in Marathon Key Florida because of all the wonderful things they do to rescue and help injured dolphins. This facility educates the public about dolphins in the wild, and spends however much time is necessary to rescue and rehabilitate dolphins and return them back into the wild where they belong! Today’s ‘feel good story of the day’ is a super cute video of a dog who regularly swims with his dolphin friend….have the kids watch this video with you!

Another super cool experience I have had with dolphins in the wild is when I have been out fishing in the ocean! Dolphins have on more than one occasion, followed our boat, putting on somewhat of a show for us! One time when we were fishing in Marathon with my Dad and husband, I caught a fish and was reeling it in the boat. Both my Dad and husband came to my side of the boat to see what I had caught.
Just when we could see that it was a ‘Hogfish,’ which happens to be one of our favorite fish to eat…BAM! A dolphin came from under the boat and GRABBED my fish, which was still on my line! I was freaking out…the dolphin was swimming away from our boat in what seemed like a million miles per hour, taking all the line off my fishing reel! All of a sudden, I kid you not, the dolphin SPIT the fish straight up into the air and he made a noise that sounded like LAUGHING at me!! Like “Ha-Ha…..had you freaked out!”
Have you ever had an amazing encounter with a dolphin?
