While it’s extremely hard, I have been trying to eat and be all around healthier in my life. Maybe it’s because I am newly married. Maybe it’s just because I don’t enjoy what I hear at the doctor’s office. Either way, I have been trying my hardest to do anything I can to be healthier. One of my biggest downfalls is that I don’t eat enough fruit. But recently, I have found a few fruits that pack a major punch!
I always thought the word “superfruit” was a gimmick for the stores to sell more of something. I would have never thought that there were actual fruits that were better for you than others! According to experts over at Yahoo, there really are superfruits that give you a little extra boost! One of the only berries that I actually like, blackberries, are on this list! One of the biggest bonuses are that they are “rich in polyphenols, the same family of antioxidants found in green tea, which may help prevent cardiovascular disease, cancers, and osteoporosis. Blackberries are also number one for fiber: One cup delivers one-third of your daily target of 25 to 35 grams a day.”
Something that I eat every day is also on the superfruit list! Apples are considered a “secret” superfruit. Not many people would think any different of apples, but they are really special. While they are good for you almost anyway you look at them, the skin is very important. They actually work as an anti-inflammatory!
And something I have never seen, nor eaten, that is on the list is the dragonfruit! Maybe it’s because they are mainly grown in Asia. But I would still love to try this. Yahoo says:
