Either the police in Darien Lake, N.Y are extremely strict or the fans aren’t very good at not getting caught. I’m not admitting to anything, but if I asked you when you had your first beer, I’m betting most of you would tell me it was before you were 21. At a Rascal Flatts show Saturday night in Darien Lake, N.Y 59 fans were charged with underage possession of alcohol and intent to consume. These weren’t the only fans in trouble either. Two other fans were busted for trespassing after they were thrown out and proceeded to re-enter the show, while another fan was charged with possession of marijuana. Sounds like Rascal Flatts fans are a lot wilder than I thought.

Keep that in mind when you head out to DTE July 20th with Rascal Flatts, Little Big Town, Eli Young Band and Edens Edge. I’ve been partying at what we called Pine Knob for years and never had any problems with the law, so as long as you’re not being a total idiot you should be fine.

This story keeps reminding me of the lyrics from Brooks & Dunn’s Red Dirt Road, “That’s where I drank my first beer.” Who knows maybe some of those who were busted for underage drinking were just trying their first beer. I drank my first beer with my dad and I won’t say what age, but I will say it was a Miller Highlife and at the time I thought it was gross! Now a few years later it’s a very tasty treat.
