Banning the ‘Skinny People’

From Edwards & Lee, Weekdays 3 PM – 7 PM

You’ve heard of discrimination against overweight people, but what about discrimination against thin gals? A gym in Canada bans “skinny” women from their gym. In fact, they say that “thin people bring down morale.” Founder and CEO Louise Green says that the gym is a “safe haven” for overweight people who may be intimidated to work out in the presence of those who are fit. This may sound crazy to people like me who struggle to stay fit and keep your weight in check, as I personally admire thin and fit people. Maybe a bit jealous….could jealousy be partially to blame in this ‘ban of skinny people?’

I have two close friends who are extremely thin, and have always been thin their whole lives Both of them eat all the time, and must just have super metabolism’s that keep them thin regardless of what they eat! They both will even go to extremes to put weight on when they start to get way too skinny, like drinking milk shakes before they go to bed.

Both of my friends have been terribly hurt by comments that others make to them about their weight. As my one friend put it:

“I would NEVER go up to a fat fiend and say OMG!…you really need to lose weight, you have become WAY too fat! But these same friends think nothing of telling me how I am WAY TOO SKINNY and I need to put on some weight. This hurts my feelings, as much as it would hurt theirs, if I made comments about them being fat. I know I am super skinny and I am already self-conscience about it!”

Are you a skinny person who is sick and tired of people making comments about your weight?
