I have to start off by saying that I think paying over $100 for a pair of shoes is outrageous. And that’s even for a nice pair of leather shoes. But for a pair of sneakers, I wouldn’t pay over $60. Well, all the major sneaker brands have shoes that cost hundreds of dollars, and people line up to buy them. Recently, Adidas was promoting a shoe on their Facebook page that were going to be available in August, and they were going to be priced at $350! But that’s not the issue. People were OUTRAGED by how they looked!
According to Yahoo, people were up in arms about how the new Adidas JS Roundhouse Mids looked. The designer of the shoe added orange shackles attached to chains. The shackles literally wrapped around the ankles of whoever wears them. People were upset because it brought back thoughts of slavery and it also reminded people of prison. So many people complained, Adidas has pulled the shoe! They are no longer going to make the shoe available to the public!
What do you think? Are people going overboard, or is Adidas crazy for attempting to put these in stores? You can read more at Yahoo.com.
