After eight years together, Edens Edge is more than excited for the release of their self titled debut album, available June 12th and featuring the hit song “Amen” and their latest single “Too Good To Be True.”
Dean Berner of Edens Edge tells WYCD personality Steve Grunwald that this album is a “huge milestone” for the band. Also available on Tuesday will be a deluxe edition of their album featuring three additional acoustic tracks, found only at Cracker Barrel stores.
The band also just found out their new album made Billboard‘s list of Top 40 albums to watch of summer. Which Hannah tells us, “includes all genres, so it is such an honor.”
“Billboard has been really good to us, when we first came out they listed us as one of the bands to watch.” Well, deserved for the Big Machine artists who have been rising to the top of the charts since their hit song “Amen.”
Their newest video for “Too Good To Be True” was “fun to shoot” they tell us, with the video being shot in reverse. “The end of the story line is actually the beginning of the video.” It will make more sense when you watch:
The trio is excited to be touring this summer with Rascal Flatts, which brings up the subject of what it’s like for Dean living on a bus with two women. The toughest part, which many guys can relate to – “sharing the bathroom.” Hannah and Cherrill say the band and crew complain about the “girl smell,” referring to hairspray and body lotions. Dean has it all figured out though, he says he’s “learned to say yes.”
Dean, Cherrill and Hannah are also excited to be touring with Rascal Flatts all summer. Joking about Gary LeVox, Steve Grunwald asked if they could do Gary’s high voice yet. Almost in unison, and certainly in agreement Edens Edge says “no, it’s too fancy, he’s one of a kind – he’s LEVOX, he’s the voice!”
The 30th anniversary WYCD Downtown Hoedown is taking place this weekend (June 8-10) in downtown Detroit.
