Is Wounded Vet From ‘America’s Got Talent’ A Liar?

This past Monday, when America’s Got Talent was in Texas, they had a young man named Tim Poe audition that played guitar and sang.  But the twist was that he had a beautiful singing voice, but he stuttered when he spoke!  He said that it was from a brain injury he suffered while in the Army, serving in Afghanistan.  According to new reports, Tim lied about his whole account in the army, and was never injured!  Was he really telling the truth?

According to ArmyTimes.com, representatives from the Army has said that Tim has lied about his entire account when he auditioned on AGT in Texas on Monday’s episode.  Tim says that he served for 14 years in the Army, and while in Afghanistan, he was injured by a grenade that broke his back and left him with a stutter due to a brain injury.  Representatives have reported that Tim only served from 2002-2011 and was NEVER injured during this time.

“Sgt. Poe’s official military records do not indicate that he was injured by a grenade in combat while serving in Afghanistan in 2009, as he reports,” Lt. Col. Kevin Olson, a spokesman for the Minnesota National Guard, said in a statement.

“We looked very closely at his record,” Olson said in a telephone interview with The Associated Press. “We did not find something to substantiate what he said.”

While his story may have been a lie, he still has a great singing voice.  I don’t think he needed this crazy story to get sent to Las Vegas!  Watch his story and audition in whole:
