Google Executive Advises New College Grads To ‘Turn Off The Computer’ For One Hour A Day!

The graduating class of Boston University may have been surprised when Google Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt challenged college graduates on Sunday to take the radical step and tear their eyes away from their smartphones and computer screens for at least one hour every day. But he was trying to give them some really good advice, even though he admitted that he may not exactly follow that advice himself!

Schmidt told graduates at Boston University where he received an honorary degree. He encouraged them to take their eyes off that screen and look into the eyes of the person they love so that they can have a real conversation.   Schmidt said that he’s not going to do it but…probably wishes he could do it and I bet his loved ones wish he would too!  Why is it so difficult for you to shut it all down even for an hour each day?

If you were the commencement speaker at a college, what advice would you give to the new graduates?
