Donna Summer, ‘Queen Of Disco’ Dies At 63


The Queen of Disco, Donna Summer, has passed away at 63. The singer lost her battle to cancer according to TMZ.com.

Sources close to Summer told TMZ that she was trying to keep the extent of her illness under wraps. They spoke with someone who was with Summer a couple of weeks ago, who said she didn’t seem too bad.

In the late 1960s, Summer was influenced by Janis Joplin after listening to her albums as member of Big Brother and the Holding Company, and she joined the psychedelic rock group the Crow as it’s lead singer. She also provided backup vocals for Three Dog Night.

Donna Summer is best known for her hits “Last Dance,” “Hot Stuff,” “Bad Girls,” “She Works Hard for the Money,” and “This Time I Know It’s for Real.”
