The New ‘Ugly Meter” Smartphone App Sounds Dumb To Me

A new app that claims to rate the ugliness of individuals after scanning their faces has created a controversy. The Ugly Meter app scans the user’s face and rates his or her attractiveness.  Apparently, ugliness is based on facial features, such as the size of a nose or the distance between someone’s eyes. The regular version of the app costs 99 cents, while an upgraded version is $5.

I can certainly understand why this new ‘ugly app’ is controversial….and mean spirited too. Who wouldn’t feel terrible if this thing scanned your face and deemed you ‘ugly’.  But I guess my opinion does not matter, because the app is available for iPhones and Androids.

What do you think about the new ‘ugly meter’ app and would you buy it?

Chuck Edwards claims he has 500 different phone apps….who needs 500 apps? I think he is an ‘app hoarder’…
