I just love hearing about huge country stars who do the same stupid things that we all do, like having one to many cocktails and picking up a phone! What happens next is almost always a ‘drunk dial‘ call that we always seem to regret the day afterwards! Kenny Chesney admits that ‘after a couple bottles of wine,’  he drunk dialed Lionel Ritchie and left him a sappy-singing message, telling his how much he loved him, and wanted to perform a duet with him, all about “Love!” This really is too funny, and  anyone like me who has done the same dang thing while drinking can definitely relate to the ‘what did I do last night‘ feeling!

Lionel Ritchie seems to have gotten a big kick out of the voice message that was left by the obviously tipsy Kenny Chesney, and chuckled as he impersonated Kenny while telling Country Vibe that the gist of the message was:

“‘Lionel! Oh my God, Lionel! Oh my God, oh my God! My Love … [singing] My looove, just thinkin’ about … Oh Lionel, I love you. I love you Lionel, I love you!’

Lionel also told Country Vibe that Kenny Chesney did call back ‘the day after’ to apologize:

“The next day, he called me on the phone and he said, ‘I’m sorry I drunk dialed you, but I had to tell you how much I love you’, and I said, ‘I know how much you love me, Kenny.’”

End result? Kenny is among the artists performing duets with Lionel on the just-released pop-country hybrid album, called Tuskegee, and yes, he got his wish and sings “My Love” too!
