[photogallerylink id=136850 align=right]Saturday Night’s broadcast at The Palace for the [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Lady Antebellum[/lastfm] concert was as awesome as any other broadcast. We had hundreds of WYCD listeners stop by to chat for a bit to try to win backstage passes to meet Lady A. While it may have seemed like a normal night, it wasn’t. Several weeks ago we received an email from Charlie. He wanted to propose to his girlfriend at the concert, and we were going to let him do it on air. And when it seemed like he wasn’t going to show, I was getting nervous!
Several weeks ago, we got an email from Charlie. It was Charlie’s wish to propose to his girlfriend of six years..Heather. Even though we can’t do this as much as we would like, Charlie’s request was special. He and Heather have family in Virginia, listening to the proposal on WYCD.com.
I started getting a little nervous around 5:30 when I hadn’t received the text to clue me in on Charlie and Heather’s arrival at The Palace. We would only be on the air for another hour and what if they got held up in heavy traffic heading in to The Palace. I was nervous…and I wasn’t the one proposing. Finally with just enough time to spare, Charlie finally sent me the text message, and told me they were almost there. Minutes later, Charlie, Heather and friends arrived for the big moment. I played it off that I just wanted to talk to them about their excitement for The Lady A show.
Charlie nervously took the mic and delivered the proposal heard across the world! OK, maybe not across the world..but definitely in Michigan and Virginia. Heather said yes…mission accomplished!
