By far, last nights WYCD 10 Man Jam was the biggest and most fun out of all of them. It puts a great start to 2012. Not only were the tunes great, but all the artists took the time to chat for a while. I got a chance to chat with Michigan native and 10 Man Jam star, [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Frankie Ballard[/lastfm]. After chatting for a while. Frankie told me something I never knew – he’s really good friends with Tony Scheffler from the Detroit Lions!
What a small world it is. After chatting with Frankie, I found out that Frankie and Tony played baseball together at Western Michigan. They were actually roomed together on the road! With that, I instantly knew Frankie had to have some good stories about Tony.
While some fans think Schefflers celebration dances are very cocky, Frankie thinks Tony’s bravado is very cool. “Tony is actually a very nice guy. If I were to write a song about him, I’d call it ‘The Gentle Giant’.”
Are Tony’s moves pre-meditated? He says they just happen spur of the moment. “He reminds me of legendary golfer Chi-Chi Rodriquez when he did the sword thing.”
Will Scheffler-brating become as popular as Tebowing? “If Tony can find a way to get into the end-zone more, maybe.”
