OMG! The Death Of The ‘Twinkie?’

Throughout the years, the Twinkie’s image has been tarnished by such things as the questionable list of 37 ingredients and the rumor that a Twinkie has an ‘infinite shelf life.‘ When I was a kid and brought my lunch to school in a brown paper bag, the one thing I wanted most, was the Twinkie that was almost always packed inside along with my peanut butter & jelly sandwich! Are we seriously so ‘health conscience’ now that we are partially to blame for the ‘death of the Twinkie?’
But the biggest hit that the Twinkie has taken has been the punch of the health-conscious parent and their avoidance of feeding their kids junk food. In 2011, the Twinkie saw a 2% drop in sales. But 36 million packages were STILL sold. But that did not stop Hostess, who just last week filed for Chapter 11.

Dear Twinkie: I will miss you…and please tell me that Ho-Ho’s & Ding-Dongs will not be next on the ‘unhealthy chopping block!’ Love, Linda Lee
