2012 Detroit Navy Week

Enjoy a FREE Military Tribute Concert starring Darryl Worley during Detroit Navy Week on Saturday, September 8th at 6pm, presented by GM Military Discount and Chevrolet! The show will take place on the Detroit riverfront along the Renaissance Center.

Come out early to enjoy the Detroit Navy Week festivities:

• Meet sailors and learn about the Navy’s capabilities and national security! U.S. Navy, Coast Guard and Marine Corps personnel will be on site.
• Check out the Navy simulator, custom airbrushed vehicle displays, Navy Band musical performances, Coast Guard search-and-rescue demonstrations.
• Experience FREE tours of the USS Dewert, USS Hurricane, and the historic naval ship – U.S. Brig Niagara which served as the relief flagship for Oliver Hazard Perry in the Battle of Lake Erie during the War of 1812.

Tuesday, Sept. 4

• 4-6 p.m.: U.S. Navy Band Great Lakes performance, GM Ren Cen plaza stage
• 4:30-6:30 p.m.: USS DeWert, USS Hurricane, US Brig Niagara and USCGC Katmai Bay arrive at Detroit riverfront

Wednesday, Sept. 5

• 10 a.m.-6 p.m.: Military Festival including GM ride-and-drive, science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) display (noon-6 p.m.), Corvette vehicle display, GM Ren Cen
• 11 a.m.-12 p.m., 12:30-2 p.m., 4-6 p.m.: U.S. Navy / USMC military band performances, GM Ren Cen plaza stage
• Noon: Detroit welcome ceremony, GM Ren Cen plaza stage; Ville de Quebec arrives in Windsor
• 1-6 p.m.: USCGC Katmai Bay public tours
• Noon-7 p.m.: US Brig Niagara public tours, U.S. Navy helicopter public viewing
• 3-7 p.m.: USS DeWert and USS Hurricane public tours
• 3-7 p.m.: ESPN ship broadcast

Thursday, Sept. 6
