Thank goodness [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Dierks Bentley[/lastfm] now has a successful career in country music! Otherwise, one of his jobs prior to this, could have landed him a guest spot on the Discovery Channel’s popular, yet hard to watch show: Dirty Jobs!
houseboat OMG! Dierks Bentley Was Head Cleaner Of Houseboat Honey Pots Dierks Bentley actually spent an entire summer, cleaning out ‘houseboat honey-pots‘ which contained 250 gallons of waste that accumulated over a week or so, from the 10-12 houseboat guests onboard! While it’s a nasty job, someone has to do it and it’s not so bad if everything goes well! Anyone who goes camping like me, probably has a ‘nasty’ story to tell of a ‘honey-pot disaster‘…..from a minor leaking hose, to a full-out tank blowout!

Dierks too has a story to tell, of one nasty experience that he will not soon forget, recalling the one time things went horribly wrong! Dierks tells us that during his summer working at Arizona’s Lake Powell, he had to clean 250-gallon portable toilets from the returning rental houseboats.

“It usually had a week’s worth of ‘stuff’ in there from the 10 to 12 houseboat guests, and once, the old machine used to empty the toilets backfired, sending the hose and all the stuff straight up into the air. I tried to outrun the ‘rain’….but got nailed.”

Since misery loves company….tell us, have you ever had or witnessed a ‘honey-pot’ disaster?
