Zac Brown has been singing since he could talk, but has been studying music since age 7, he tells us, “driving my siblings crazy.“ But singing isn’t his only specialty! Zac cooks up a mean hand-cut steak and flavors everything with homemade sauces and dressings! In 2004, Zac fans flocked to Lake Oconee, Georgia where Zac and his father opened a restaurant, Zac’s Place, serving it up Southern Style and offering a relaxed setting for live music.
It was that restaurant where he first met country music newcomer, Sonia Leigh. So impressed whenever Sonia would take the stage, Zac began mentoring and is now producing her new album, 1978 December, due out September 27th, featuring the lead off hit single, “My Name Is Money.” You can pre-order the album here now, and get a free music download! Sonia Leigh is touring with Zac Brown Band through the Fall.
When Zac has a couple days off from his tour, you will find him at home with his family, where he tells us his wife does most of the cooking. He did, however, manage to find time to help his kids make homemade cream cheese icing before he hopped on a plane for Detroit.
Once in Detroit, Zac Brown was joined by his friend and special guest chef, Guy Fieri. You may know Guy from one of his three popular Food Network shows: Guy’s Big Bite, Guy Off the Hook and Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. Guy and Chef Rusty cooked up some savory dishes for the Zac Brown ‘Eat and Greet’ at Ford Field. See the photos in the gallery above! Check out Fieri’s Recipes of the Month here.
If you share a passion for good homemade Southern Cooking, you’ll want to order a copy of the ZBB Southern Ground Cook Book. You can order here at Zac Brown Band’s official website.
Oh, and if Zac ever invites you to a BYOB party, remember his favorite beers: LandShark Lager and Fat Tire Ale (among a few others mentioned in video above!)
