Remember the movie Dirty Dancing? If you have not been to a dance club lately, you might be surprised at how much more ‘physical’ today’s style of ‘grinding’ has become. If it is consensual, and not at a high school dance, then who’s to say it’s wrong. But how does a woman stop a guy from ‘grinding her’ on the dance floor when she does not want to participate? Should you talk to your teenage daughter about ‘grinding?’ I say yes you should and a lot of other women are speaking up and putting the unwanted physical contact to a ‘grinding halt’ too!

For those who may not be real sure what ‘grinding’ even is, in a nutshell, it’s when a guy comes up behind a women, and starts ‘grinding his privates’ on her backside. It’s a very sexual, I would call it ‘humping in public‘ and I sure would not want my 16 year old daughter to be subjected to this unwanted contact at a high school dance. Since it has become so popular, all the kids on Jersey Shore grinding one another, it appears ‘everyone is doing it’ but that does not mean it’s OK for girls who don’t want to do it. Like sex, you CAN and SHOULD say NO…or just walk away.

There is a chick on the internet name Jenna Marbles who has an instructional video, with her hilarious tips on “How To Avoid Talking To People You Don’t Wanna Talk To”…I would have posted it here, but she cusses like a sailor, so I don’t want to offend anybody. If you’re a women who goes clubbing and need some tips from a ‘club pro’ like Jenna, you can find her video on YouTube! She has what she calls ‘the face’ she gives to offensive ‘grinders’ on the dance floor. Kind of a SHOCKED look without saying a word, and she just keeps the ‘frozen shocked face’ that she says, stops guys instantly. She just keeps ‘the face’ until the guy walks away from her!
