According to Fire Marshal Greg Thomas of Sterling Heights, a local house fire is still under investigation. But the owner of the house knows exactly who his hero is. A local worker saved his wife and daughter from the house fire.
According to The Macomb Daily, when William Rucker’s house was on fire, he was under a lot of pressure. He was especially worried that his daughter and wife were not out of the house. But by time he went to go back in the house, the front door was engulfed by flames. This is where a local worker stepped in.
Bobby Kokenos is a worker at car dealership right across the street from Rucker’s house. Bobby is being hailed as a hero, because he ran across Van Dyke to get to the house to make sure everyone was ok. When he saw William outside, he asked if anyone else was inside. When Bobby heard William’s wife and daughter were still inside, he went to the back, kicked in the door, and helped the wife and daughter to safety.
The owner of the dealership Bobby works at said this shows exactly what to expect out of Bobby.
“Bobby is an excellent worker and quick thinking and rapid response certainly doesn’t surprise Tony and me,” Maisano said.
Bobby insists he isn’t a hero, and that he was doing exactly what any person would have done in the situation. Do you think that is true? Would anyone have done this, or is Bobby a hero?
