With [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Taylor Swift[/lastfm]’s most recent hit, “Mean,” being certified Gold this week, it shows all Taylor fans just how quick she can rise to the top. But Taylor says the tune was written at a time she felt “completely powerless,” but “really fun to see Mean do well!”
While chatting with Nashville.com about “Mean” going Gold, she talked a little bit about how it feels to see the song do well.
I wrote that song about and based on the fact that it came from me going through a really tough time in writing that song, because I felt so powerless I just didn’t know what else to say or what else to do,”
I guess when she was at Ford Field here in Detroit, she came to the conclusion on how awesome it feels that other people understand where she is coming from!
because when you write a song and it comes from such a vulnerable moment in my life and then you get to stand on a stage and the affirmation that 50,000 people have gone through that too and they’re singing along, it’s been kind of wonderful.”
