As soon as a celebrity dies, especially in major controversy, many super fans start to say that the celebrity didn’t really die, and they are out living somewhere to hide from the public.  There was a recent story on the PBS website that New Zealand confirmed one of America’s biggest celebrities, that was claimed to be dead, is living there.  Is it true?

According to Yahoo, PBS had a story on their website claiming that one of America’s biggest celebrity killings was a hoax and this person was living in New Zealand.  The claim was rap artist [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Tupac Shakur[/lastfm] had faked his death and living there.  Woah…not so fast.  PBS had to release a statement saying that someone had hacked their system and this was not a post that was approved…or real.

David Fanning, producer of the documentary Frontline is not only surprised by this, but a little upset.  Frontline is a documentary about Wikileaks, which is actually the way they found out about the hacking of the website.

“This kind of action is irresponsible and chilling.”
