[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Darius Rucker[/lastfm] has had a pretty interesting and successful career. After a few years of no new music from [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Hootie and the Blowfish[/lastfm], Darius took the country music scene by storm. You may think that being such a big star would always in a hurry trying to do something new, but according to Darius he always makes an attempt to “keep life as simple as possible.”
I have noticed that many of Darius Rucker’s songs are about family and his kids. It only makes sense that being a father is very important to him. According to Taste of Country, he chatted with KNCI about how important his kids are to him and trying to live a simple life.
“I try to keep life simple. I live in Charleston, South Carolina. Our kids go to public school. I don’t want it any other way. When it starts to get any other way, I get really uncomfortable with that. I like to keep it low key.”
He also said that he tries his hardest to only be on tour on certain days so he can be home as much as possible.
“I love my kids and love being with my family. That’s why I worked so hard all these years!”
Now, Darius also love a good, or bad, game of golf. He has actually partnered up with PGA recently. When asked where on the scale compared to his kids golf was, he said:
”Golf ranks way below the kids. If it wasn’t for my kids, I’d golf 7 days a week!”
