Since her days on American Idol, [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Kellie Pickler[/lastfm] has released two albums. While they have done a great job selling, and her fan base has only grown since then, she still says the albums have not let her shine musically like she wishes.
In an interview with The Kansas City Star, Kellie talked about how even though she has done pretty good for herself since being in Nashville, that doesn’t mean she has really found her place with her music yet.
“The past couple of years that I’ve been in Nashville since I signed my record deal, I’ve struggled to figure out where my place is,” Pickler said. “There’s a lot more to Kellie Pickler than the first two albums let you in on.”
“He’s not about rushing it,” Pickler said. “He said: ‘I want people to hear on your record what I see in front of me.’ I know what I love, but how can we do that with today’s styles? I want to go in and cut the most country, backwoods — some dirty country music. But I’ve got a lot of people to answer to, and I’ve got to make certain people happy because you have companies investing a lot of money into you. I’m patient, and I’m paying my dues.”
