Does American Idol discriminate against “big” people? One girl claims they do!A 19-year-old who won tickets to be in the audience of the Fox hit is crying foul, claiming she wasn’t allowed to sit with her friends because she was “just too big” to be in the front. Ashley Kauffman of Riverside, California tells Radaronline that she was “so excited,” when she and her friends won tickets to the show, but when they got there, three of her friends got front row seats, but she and another friend got relegated to the back. “There were two ladies and they kind of looked us up and down…One of us was not in a great outfit and the lady said ‘Oh, I don’t want shorts in front.’ Then she looks at me and goes, ‘Oh no, you’re just too big, too heavy to be in front!,'” explains Ashley. “I was kind of taken aback. I’m not that big, but I understand I was bigger than the girls I was with. But I was like, ‘Wow, way to hit a low blow.'” Ashley, who is 5 foot 2 and weighs about 150 pounds, says she “was really offended,” by what went on. “I felt so belittled as a person because of my weight,” she said. “It needs to be known that they are making people feel like this.”
