Brace yourselves for this shocker: comfort food is comforting! According to a new study by Psychological Science magazine, comfort food can indeed pull you out of a dark mood. I have my ideas, but what do you think is the most ‘comforting’ food of all?
Throughout our daily lives we experience stress and comfort food can serve as a ready-made, easy resource for taking our minds off of it. Eating mac and cheese, meatloaf, and mashed potatoes can make you feel good…. but remember, that it isn’t going to help you fit into that swimming suit by summer! That is what I try and tell myself when I have that big bowl of ice cream….I am so addicted to Moose Tracks, it combines my love of chocolate, ice cream and peanut butter cups!
