WYCD Program Director Tim Roberts and Gloriana, CRS 2011

Country radio broadcasters have convened in Nashville this week for country radio networking seminars and workshops at the 2011 Country Radio Seminar (aka CRS).  But it’s not all work and no play. . . get the highlights, video and photos from CRS 2011!

CRS is a chance for broadcasters to get together, exchange ideas and for artists to showcase new music and make a connection with the programmers who bring their music to country radio!

If there was a dry eye in the house, it belonged to a statue in the lobby." credit="David Scarlett, Nashville.com"]This year the show kicked off with [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Carrie Underwood[/lastfm] performing the National Anthem, followed by [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Sugarland[/lastfm], who flew in just to perform their latest hit “Little Miss” before heading back to start their tour. Next up was newcomer [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Canaan Smith[/lastfm], then [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Coldwater Jane[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Kip Moore[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Dani Flowers[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Easton Corbin[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Laura Bell Bundy[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Mallary Hope[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Hayes Carll[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Josh Kelley[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Randy Rogers[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Randy Montana[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Ashton Shepherd[/lastfm] (Who also announced at CRS that she is expecting her second child! David Nail debuted live for the first time, “Sound of a Million Dreams” and Jamey Johnson performed a heartwrenching “You Take Me For Granted.” (Below) Other  hits were Josh Turner’s “I Wouldn’t Be A Man” and the final act of the day that rocked CRS and brought the broadcasters up out of their seats was Lionel Richie and Darius Rucker duet of “Stuck On You.”

On opening day of CRS 2011, the 2011 CRB Artist Humanitarian Award was presented to [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Tim McGraw[/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Faith Hill[/lastfm] for their ongoing efforts to aid those affected by the Nashville floods in 2010. The couple was particularly instrumental in organizing the star-studded Nashville Rising flood relief concert at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena in June 2010. Last year’s winner, [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Trace Adkins[/lastfm], presented the award to Hill and McGraw. See the complete list of Radio Humanitarian Winners.
