It looks like Amber Portwood‘s ex-fiancé is on her side.
Amber was arrested earlier this week for attacking Gary Shirley, the father of her two-year-old daughter Leah, but Gary is now coming to her aid. TMZ reports that he contacted law enforcement officials yesterday to see if it was possible to get a judge to overturn Amber’s “no contact order” which prohibits her from contacting Shirley. The order initially prohibited contact with her daughter as well, but that was changed on Tuesday. Amber’s attorney Robert Schembs tells People, “It’s my understanding that Leah will be placed back with her,” and Radar reports the mother and daughter were reunited yesterday. Amber will be under strict supervision of Child Protective Services and if they find that her living situation is unsuitable, Leah will be returned to Shirley. Meanwhile, sources tell Radaronline that before the order was issued, Amber and Gary were planning to reconcile. “Gary and Amber have been talking about getting back together lately,” a source close to the MTV stars told the site. “Amber was going to go with Gary to New York City for New Year’s Eve and told friends not to be surprised if they came back as a couple.”
