Miranda Lambert Stays Fit & Says 2010 Changed Her World
[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Miranda Lambert[/lastfm] will take the stage tonight at the Grammy Nominations Concert Live tonight on CBS to perform her current single, “Only Prettier.” With a new fitness regiment in her life, she should be feeling pretty good when she hits the stage at Club NOKIA in L.A. this evening.
The Grammy Nominations Concert will air live on CBS at 10 PM, ET. Other performers include [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Justin Bieber[/lastfm],[lastfm link_type="artist_info"] Katy Perry[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Bruno Mars[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Train[/lastfm] and more.
[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Miranda Lambert[/lastfm] tells Billboard that she can actually feel her career moving to the next stage. She says, “2010 has changed my world a lot. I turned 27. I have been playing music for a living for 10 years, and all of a sudden I can physically feel this jump in levels. Before, I had this slow, steady build, which is completely fine with me because I want to be here forever. But all of a sudden it kicked into gear. Ten years of work is showing up right now, and it’s kind of crazy.” One crazy moment came when a country legend told her something at The CMA Awards. Miranda recalls, “[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Loretta Lynn[/lastfm] told me to my face, ‘You’re countrier than I am,’ and I thought, ‘This is coming from a woman who rhymes ‘hard’ with ‘tired.'”
Lambert also shares the good and bad about being engaged to fellow country artist [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Blake Shelton[/lastfm]. She admits, “The good outweighs the bad. The bad is being apart, and also we have way different music tastes, Blake and I. We don’t listen to the same kind of music, and we don’t record the same kind of music. But that’s also kind of good in a way, because we each do our own thing and neither one of us tries to change the other.” And the best part? Miranda notes, “When the [CMA Awards] red carpet and awards show were over, we went home and we’re normal. I made cookies and Blake burned a brush pile.”
