Darius Rucker Takes Us To Charleston SC With His New Album

[lastfm]Darius Rucker[/lastfm] releases his much-anticipated sophomore solo country album, Charleston, SC 1966 today. His debut country album, Learn To Live, was a huge success and garnered three #1 songs. Although Darius took home the CMA Award for New Artist of the Year in 2009, he admits he still feels like a newbie to the country family, and he thinks this new album is a make-it-or-break-it record for him.

I was able to listen to the new album last week and it is AMAZING!! From the very first track, This (written by [lastfm]Darius Rucker[/lastfm] and former American Idol judge [lastfm]Kara DioGuardi[/lastfm]) to the duet with [lastfm]Brad Paisley[/lastfm] called I Don’t Care, the album is a bona-fide hit! A great mix of upbeat feel good songs about love and family, to the slower heartbroken songs like Whiskey and You. This album definitely proves that the sophomore album doesn’t always mean disaster. Go and pick this album up, it is worth it!
