In honor of Country Music Month, throughout October, we’re going to be running Top 5 lists of different types of country songs. Today, we present to you, the Top 5 Country Duets.
What’s better than hearing your favorite country artist sing a song that gets stuck in your head for days? When two of your favorite country artists hook up to make sweet music. So with much thought and care I bring you the five best country duets of all time.
No. 5 – [lastfm]Shania Twain[/lastfm] & [lastfm]Bryan White[/lastfm] “From This Moment”
Besides being a staple at every single wedding, anniversary and engagement, this song also brought Shania her ninth top-ten hit on the charts!
No. 4 – [lastfm]Reba McEntire[/lastfm] & [lastfm]Kelly Clarkson[/lastfm] “Because Of You”
You have to love a song that can cover the age gap from Reba’s “Fancy” fans to Kelly’s “Miss Independent” fans.
No. 3 – [lastfm]Willie Nelson[/lastfm] & [lastfm]Waylon Jennings[/lastfm] “Mammas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up To Be Cowboys”
So the title is a mouthful, but the message is still the same. I like to consider this one my ‘throwback jam’. That, and I’d never be forgiven if these two fellas weren’t included on this duet list.
No. 2 – [lastfm]Tim McGraw[/lastfm] & [lastfm]Faith Hill[/lastfm] “Let’s Make Love”
I doubt you’re surprised. Tim and Faith are the country power couple, after all. Can these two do anything wrong?
No. 1 – [lastfm]Johnny Cash[/lastfm] & [lastfm]June Carter[/lastfm] “Jackson”
There was no doubt in my mind this song would be number one. I’m talking the original Johnny and June but if you automatically think Reese Witherspoon and Joaquin Phoenix that’s okay, too. The important thing is that you know who Johnny Cash and June Carter are!
