Tonight’s a big night in Music City as “Nashville Rising: A Benefit Concert for Flood Relief” takes place at the Bridgestone Arena. Hosted and organized by country couple [lastfm]Tim McGraw[/lastfm] and [lastfm]Faith Hill[/lastfm], the show will feature a bill of over 20 top acts in country music and beyond including…[lastfm]Carrie Underwood[/lastfm], [lastfm]Toby Keith[/lastfm], [lastfm]Miley Cyrus[/lastfm], [lastfm]Taylor Swift[/lastfm] and [lastfm]Jason Aldean[/lastfm] performing two or three songs each.
At yesterday’s rehearsals, Tim and Faith talked about their adopted hometown of Nashville, and just how special the people here are.
It was the very day of the Nashville Flood, May 1st, when Tim placed a call to his booking agent to set the wheels in motion for “Nashville Rising.” As Faith shares, the stars lined up quickly.
Money raised from the “Nashville Rising” benefit will go directly to the Tennessee Emergency Response Fund of The Community of Nashville; the funds will go to those in need, affected by the May 2010 Nashville flood.
