For [lastfm]Steel Magnolia’s [/lastfm][lastfm]Joshua Scott Jones [/lastfm]and [lastfm]Meghan Linsey[/lastfm], it all began one starry night singing a duet of [lastfm]Air Supply’s [/lastfm]“I’m All Out Of Love” at a karaoke bar in Nashville’s famous Printer’s Alley.
The encounter not only led the two of them to dating, but also to winning Season 2 of CMT’s Can You Duet? A record deal soon followed, and their Top 5 debut single, “Keep On Lovin’ You,” is the lead single off this year’s Valentine’s Day Original Motion Picture Soundtrack.
While [lastfm]Steel Magnolia[/lastfm] formed their singing-songwriting partnership in 2006, they had solo careers prior to that. Meghan, a native of New Orleans, was opening for some of the biggest names in country music. Josh, who hails from Illinois, spent time in the Los Angeles scene for a while, playing well-known clubs such as the Viper Room and The Knitting Factory. While Meghan’s influences mainly come from the country genre, Josh was influenced by a broad spectrum of music. Together, though, they quickly became a team.
[lastfm]Steel Magnolia[/lastfm] will be in town on June 11th with the [lastfm]Brad Paisley[/lastfm] H2O Tour at DTE.
