I think its ridiculous what happened last night. I know that the umpires have a tough job and that everyone makes mistakes but it was simply devestating to watch everything slip away in one call. I understand and agree that instant replay should not be used through out the ENTIRE baseball game, every play or every umpires call being called into question would lengthen the game too much. But in instances of great important, such as whether a hit is a home run or not, whether a sketchy call determines a game won or a game lost, but also in instances of record breaking statistics, there should be some form of replay that can be used by the umpires. Or, take a page from the NFL playbook and allow team managers 1 or 2 red flag challenges for calls they feel were reached in error. This was something that few players are able to accomplish, and it was taken away because no one could take a second look. This lifelong tigers fan knows it was perfect, the rest of the tigers fans know it was a perfect game, the team knows, Armando knows, even the umpire knows, but it just isn’t right that the official records aren’t going to reflect it. GO TIGERS!
