Also, If a Federal Court intervenes and agrees that Carlitta’s assets shouldn’t be considered for Kwame’s restitution, then this opens up a whole new can of worms in regards to the assets of any married couple. This would set a precedent that a husband and wife decide to divirce, then the assets of the marriage are not a 50/50 ownership and therefore, the outcomes could vary from the husband and wife each receiving half or th eone partner who worked receiving it all and the other partner, who may have been a stay at home parent, receiving nothing, since they made no financial contribution to the marriage.
