[lastfm]Rascal Flatts [/lastfm]is among many acts who will participate in the upcoming [lastfm]Brooks & Dunn [/lastfm]tribute concert to be taped in Las Vegas on April 19, the night after The Academy of Country Music Awards.Jay DeMarcus shares, tongue-in-cheek, why the trio is performing on the special honoring Kix Brooks & Ronnie Dunn’s 20-year-career. Jay said, “They’ve got alot of photos from the ['Neon Circus'] tour that we had with them that they’ve used as blackmail material. We don’t really like Kix and Ronnie to be quite honest, but given the fact that they had those things as leverage… No, we love those guys. They were one of the first people that gave us a shot at a big tour and we’ll forever be indebted to them for that and grateful for them giving us that opportunity. And they’ve sort of been mentors to us. They’re a perfect example of what a class act does to maintain longevity and great relationships in this business. And I think that’s something we’ve always kind of admired about those guys. And we’re thrilled and honored to be a part of it.”
No date has been announced yet for when the CBS special ACM Presents: Brooks & Dunn – The Last Rodeo will air.
